Structural steel design
Designed to incorporate the AEP Modern Method of Construction, to give an economical design and to provide a structure for the AEP roof and floor cassette system.

Roof cassette system
With offsite roof cassettes incorporating roof lights, delivered to site and erected, giving a quicker erection sequence than traditional build systems.
The roof area for this project, 5400m2 in 161no roof cassettes.

Floor Cassette system
With floor base material and insulated panels integrated at works.
The mezzanine floor, for part of the first floor area, 766m2, in 48no floor cassettes.

 
 

Building Envelope
Consisting of insulated wall panels and all curtain walling, which is commenced as works proceeds on the structural frame. Included all finishings and interface of the materials used.

Associated Works
Included for all staircases, public and back up areas, external and internal, lift shafts, plant steel on the roof with walkways, access ladders, etc.
On the façade of the building AEP, placed brick slips to the entrance elevation, with full canopies to public walkway areas and protective canopy over the ATM area.
The project gives the benefit to the main contractor and in turn to the client of reduced programme, reduced disruption on site  by eliminating any programme or cost implications of build, as AEP build the whole building envelope, with in house departments for steelwork, modular cassettes, cladding and curtain walling all working together from the same office.

The building, once fitted out by other trades, opened successfully for business early in November 2012.
